TickLeft is a free tool. This page explains what happens to your information when you use it, what we may add later, and the choices you have.
Who we are
TickLeft is published by Sparkacus OÜ, Tallinn, Estonia. We are the controller of the personal data described here. Contact: support@sparkacus.eu.
What the tool does with your input
What you enter stays on your device. The tool runs in your browser. What you type, paste or choose from your computer is processed on your device. It is never uploaded, sent to us or stored on a server. Close the tab and it is gone, except for anything you ask the page to save on your own device.
Local storage
The page can keep small items in your browser's local storage, on your device only. We use it for your preferences (your light or dark choice, your consent choice) and for items you ask the tool to save. We do not receive them. You can clear them in your browser settings at any time.
Cookies and similar technologies
There is no account and no sign-in. The tool itself needs no cookies. Google Analytics (below) sets cookies, but only if you accept them. Until you choose, nothing of that kind is stored on your device. Our own visit counter (below) uses no cookies at all.
Analytics
We use two kinds of analytics to learn which pages people use and where they come from. Neither ever sees what you type, paste or upload into the tool.
Our own visit counter (always on, no cookies)
We run Umami, an open-source analytics tool, on our own servers in the EU; no data goes to a third party. For each page you view it records the page address, the page that linked you here, your browser, operating system, device type, screen size, language and approximate country and region.
- No cookies, and nothing stored on your device.
- Your IP address is used only to work out your country and region and is then thrown away; it is never stored.
- Visits are grouped by a code that changes every day, so we cannot follow you from one day to the next or tell who you are.
We use it because we have a legitimate interest in knowing how our own site is used (GDPR Article 6(1)(f)). We keep the counts for as long as we run the site. You can object at any time by writing to us, or block it with a content blocker; the tool works the same either way.
Google Analytics (only if you accept)
If you accept analytics in the cookie banner, we also use Google Analytics, provided by Google Ireland Limited. It sets cookies (_ga) and receives your IP address, browser and device details, the pages you view and how you use them (for example scrolling and clicks on links that leave the site). Google uses the IP address to estimate your location and does not store it for users in the EU. Google may process data outside the EU under the EU Standard Contractual Clauses.
- Legal basis: your consent (GDPR Article 6(1)(a)).
- Kept for: 14 months, then deleted by Google.
- If you decline: no Google Analytics cookies are set. Google receives only a basic signal that a page was loaded, with no cookie or identifier, which it may use to estimate total visits.
You can withdraw your consent at any time in Cookie settings.
Advertising
We may show ads from third-party ad networks to pay for the site. These networks may use cookies and similar technologies to show and measure ads. Where consent is required, they do this only if you agree. Without consent we may still show non-personalised ads, which are based on the page you are on rather than on your profile. Personalised ads use what a network has learned about your browsing.
Your choices
- Change your consent at any time: Cookie settings .
- Object to our own visit counter: write to support@sparkacus.eu.
- Block or delete cookies and local storage in your browser settings.
Your rights
Under the GDPR and the UK GDPR you can ask for access to the personal data we hold about you, ask us to correct or delete it, object to how we use it, ask us to restrict it, and withdraw consent at any time. Write to support@sparkacus.eu. You can also complain to your data protection authority, such as the Estonian Data Protection Inspectorate (Andmekaitse Inspektsioon) or, in the UK, the ICO.
Children
The tool is for a general audience and is not aimed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you think a child has given us any, tell us and we will delete it.
Changes
We update this page when what we collect changes, for example when we add ads. The date at the top shows the latest version.
